UNH Commits Update 10-5-2021: Muszelik Earns Win at Notre Dame

Team USA:17-year-old Tyler Muszelik (DOB: 7/1/04) faced an NCAA Division I hockey team for the first time last Sunday. The Under-18 team of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program travelled to the Compton Family Ice Arena on the campus of Notre Dame University for an exhibition game. The Fighting Irish were ranked #18 in the USCHO preseason poll.
Muszelik, the 6'3", 193 lbs. goalie from Long Valley, New Jersey, faced 42 shots on goal and made 39 saves. Two saves came during Notre Dame power plays. Trailing by a goal, the Irish pulled their goalie with 1:33 remaining in regulation. Muszelik made another save with 43 seconds left and Team USA Under-18 came away with a 4-3 victory.
During the 2021-22 season, the NTDP U-18 team is scheduled to play 14 games against NCAA Division I teams including 7 ranked in the top-20 preseason poll. The schedule includes two Hockey East games; at Boston University on December 12th and Providence on March 4th. At this point in the season, Muszelik and fellow Team USA goalie Dylan Silverstein (uncommitted) are alternating games. Silverstein earned a shutout win against Michigan State on Saturday.
British Columbia Hockey League:
The BCHL Exhibition Season is complete and the 2021-22 regular season begins this Friday. 2022 Commit John Evans scored a goal and 2 assists in 3 exhibition games with the West Kelowna Warriors and Nick Ardanaz picked up an assist in his only preseason game.

~ Number of UNH players leaving the team at the end of the previous season and the position they played.
~ If a National Letter of Intent has been signed.
~ The year the commit and UNH coaches originally targeted for enrollment in UNH.
~ How old the commit would be upon admission.
~ Number of years in junior hockey prior to admission.
~ The commit's performance in recent seasons as well as injuries.
~ Anticipated date of high school graduation.
