Almost There

Another off-season begins to wane and the first University of New Hampshire Wildcats Men's Hockey game of the 2009-2010 season is on cue for this weekend!

This year our Wildcats will feature four seniors to lead the way including Captains Peter LeBlanc and Bobby Butler, goaltender Brian Foster and blueliner Nick Krates. Joining them will be six juniors - Phil DeSimone, Mike Beck, Paul Thompson, Greg Manz, Matt Campanale and Mike Sislo - followed by seven sophomores with goaltenders Matt DiGirolamo and Tyler Scott as well as defensemen Blake Kessel and Damon Kipp to the forwards Mike Borisenok, Steve Moses and Kevin McCarey.

That brings us to this year's young blood - the freshmen. The largest class of the 09-10 team brings us two defensemen and six forwards. Starting with the D - from Edmonton, Alberta - last year's leading Alberta Junior Hockey League defensive scorer - Connor Hardowa. Joining him in holding down the fort will be Denver, Colorado's, Brett Kostolansky. Up front the fresh faces will be Thousand Oaks, California's, Austin Block - last year's leading scorer from the North American Hockey League - Pound Ridge, New York's, Ansel Ivens-Anderson along with San Jose, California's, Dalton Speelman and Plover, Wisconsin's, Scott Pavelski. Rounding out the group are Holden, Mass', John Henrion and Lee, NH's own, Greg Burke.
