Wednesday's Wildcat Alumni Weekly

It's Wednesday once more Nation and that brings yet another installment, albeit a bit tardy, of Wednesday's Wildcat Alumni Weekly brought to you courtesy of yours truly, The UNH Men's Hockey Blogger Guy.

Mike Radja will take top billing this week for our assessment of Wildcat Alumni in the pro hockey ranks. Mike, playing for (say it with me now) the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, had an excellent week. Nay, a terrific week or weekend if you insist. Starting with Friday night's game versus Jason Krog and his Manitoba Moose, Radja picked up two assists in a 4-1 win in which the IceHogs wisely kept Jason Krog off of the scoreboard. But that was just the start of Mike's weekend and he would tack up a goal and two more assists the following night against the Toronto Marlies with that game ultimately ending up 6-3 in the IceHogs favor. Highlights, you say!? Yeah, we've got those. Hurray for AHLLive! I'll have to add their link permanently and soon.

Now, it wasn't an easy feat to take the top slot today. As a matter of fact I'm having second thoughts. You see, Kevin Regan, recalled from a couple game stint in the ECHL since Tuuka Rask was called up to Boston, started in back-to-back games for the Providence Bruins upon his return and played like the first and second coming. Those would be the highlights though I'm a bit critical of the lack of goaltender highlights in the first, the second shows a lot more of Regan who made 68 saves on 70 shots, 34 both nights, allowing just one goal each night. On Sunday, Kevin was just :57 seconds shy of the shutout. As a reward, he was sent to Alaska! Thanks P Bruins!

Those two stories mark the highest points of the week for our Wednesday's Wildcat Alumni Weekly and that is all the time I have this time. Be sure to comment if I've missed something significant. Until next time...

Go 'Cats!
