It's A Tie

Well, down 1-0 most of the game, withstanding a 19-9 first period shot differential, until an early third period goal by Mike Sislo off of the faceoff and you can't be too disappointed with the equal score after 65 minutes.

1-1.

Go 'Cats!

So, what does this do to our PWR?

Nothing really.

Neither does beating Merrimack.

This all comes back to the TUC (Teams Under Comparison) thing I was talking about today.

It does negatively reflect in the RPI (Ratings Percentage Index, not the school) but a very, very minimal effect at this point of the year.

see this page for a detailed rundown...

http://siouxsports.com/hockey/rankings/rpidetails.php?teamid=41

And RPI is only part of the PWR (PairWise Ranking) but the PWR is used to determine TUC at which your record against TUC counts towards your PWR!

and this page to see the PWR calculation...

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong... :)

I really should have said:

"And RPI is only part of the PWR. So, the RPI is a factor in your PWR which is determines whether you are a TUC at which point your record against TUC is a factor in the PWR!"

not:

"And RPI is only part of the PWR (PairWise Ranking) but the PWR is used to determine TUC at which your record against TUC counts towards your PWR!"

I stand corrected.

The RPI determines whether you are a TUC and is one of the factors in determining the PWR along with your record against TUC, which is actually Teams Under Consideration.

Sorry for any misinformation!
