2007-2008 Hockey East Regular Season Champions!

Second consecutive and seventh Hockey East Regular season title earned with a complete season that included sweeps of BU, Maine and BC.

Whoooooooooooo!

The University of New Hampshire Men's Hockey Team is your 2007-2008 Hockey East Regular Season Champions!!!

What a game!

Brillant!

We fought back the BC hacks, I'm sorry folks but they were nasty to the point where I could see that Gerbe is not the nastiest player on BC at times, and won in convincing fashion.

FOUR powerplay goals, incredible goaltending from Kevin Regan who only allowed three goals in the season series to the highly ranked BC offense. In the meantime the team combined for an average of four goals per game against the stingy BC defense.

Simply beautiful hockey. Smart and composed, skilled and gritty - a perfectly fought victory aside from that one excusable lapse that led to the BC goal in the 5-1 domination.

Congratulations guys!

Go 'Cats!

Wow. What a beating. I love that BC is getting a reputation for diving.

I was hoping Maine would make the tournament, it would be nice to crush them in the first round. Looks like it's going to be UMass.

LOL, the B.C. hacks. Isn't the Hobey Baker Candidate the king of divers?

seriously is, but in this game Nick Petrecki was the King of Hacks - took three trips to the sin bin (I thought it was four) in a game that saw this called on UNH...

UNH-4 Nick Krates (2-CHECKING) BC 0x3

...he must have hit Gerbe!

Then there is the obvious turning of the head when Gerbe commits an infraction with league commissioner Joe Bertagna in the building having decided that it's better to besmirch the Hobey and have it in Hockey East than elsewhere - proclaiming that Gerbe's long history of unsportsmanlike behavior shouldn't affect his winning of an award that hinges upon on ice character among other things.

unbelievable.

so first the league suspends gerbe for something that wasnt even called a penalty during a game, now they are 'turning a blind eye'? make up your mind. the only thing consistent about your blog is the whining and the homerism.

but congrats to UNH, they were the best team. Unfortunate that they have the worst fans.

sore losers everywhere you go...

my position makes perfect sense, yours not so much, and I guess you didn't see this article

http://insidecollegehockey.com/7Archives/Notebooks/0708/hea_0623.htm

That includes this quote from the Commish:
"I think that would be a shame," Bertagna said. "Believe me, I believe whether it's players or coaches I've always been a stickler for people doing what's expected of them. I think it would be a shame if someone took it that far [to punish Gerbe in the Hobey Baker voting]. I really don't believe there's a body of evidence to make that a factor in the voting, just a couple incidents that happened. It seems like a long time ago to me, and he paid the price for it. To me, he's been a great player since, and I haven't had an incident, or anything anybody has asked me to look at or anything."

By the way folks - he's talking about the Hobey - FOR THE SEASON IN QUESTION!

oh, and Nathan, well, here's something special just for you

And one last lesson for you, given the recent data points, which is all you can go off of, we ARE the best team.

In the meantime, keep up the derogatory commentary and sore losing! :)
