Back in the BCHL

Welcome Damon Kipp! Our newest Future 'Cat!

The 6', 202 lbs. defenseman hails from Salmon Arm, British Colombia and has 29 points in 31 games for the Silverbacks this year.

He had 45 points in 55 games last season.

Due in the fall of 2008 along with Blake Kessel he will provide much needed depth on the blueline and a near guaranteed spot by his sophomore year although he will absolutely compete for a spot next season which will begin just after he turns 20 in early August. He will be 20 after the end of this BCHL season (which ends in February as far as I know) as his birthday falls on April 9th and he is an '88 birthdate contrary to other sources who have misread his birth date in international format and therefore the previous strikethrough.

USHR has numerous details.

Wildcats Craig Switzer and former Captain Josh Ciocco also came to UNH through the Silverbacks.

Damon rounds out a complete line of incoming recruits for the 2008 season - a goaltender, three forwards and now two defensemen. There may still be additional spots open as our 'Cats have been taking a long, hard look for some time at Damon's teammate, Derek Lee, who leads the Silverbacks in scoring with 17 goals and 34 assists for 51 points in just 28 games. Wildcat Nation would seemingly be very happy to see Derek in Blue and White as well!

Welcome to Wildcat Nation, Damon!

Go 'Cats!
