1 ECHL Game - 4 Wildcats REMATCH - 'O' WINS

The Fresno Falcons and the Phoenix Roadrunners squared off again, pitting offensive 'Cats on the Falcons' side and defensive 'Cats (that's a relative term, defensive) on the Roadrunners' side. Josh Ciocco and Brett Hemingway vs. Brian Yandle and Chris Murray.

The first dust-up saw Brian and Chris emerge the victors but on this night Brett and Josh would turn the tables.

Scoring first, in what would amount to a four unanswered goal streak through the first two periods and the start of the third, was Brett Hemingway. His second goal of the year. The streak would end with Josh Ciocco notching his first goal of the season at 2:20 of the third period giving the Falcons a 4-0 lead. But Phoenix would rally back with three straight goals in just one minute and ten seconds starting just two minutes and four seconds after Josh's goal, before a fifth Fresno goal would end the scoring at 13:57 to a final score of 5-3.

Chris and Brian were held scoreless.

In a remarkable feat that Andrew Leach and his Trenton Devils would be the unfortunate victims of, not only witnessing what must be history but also being at the receiving end of, Chanse Fitzpatrick of the Dayton Bombers scoring FIVE GOALS in one game but also in ONE PERIOD - THE THIRD PERIOD! Of what was a 1-0 Trenton lead going into the third. The Devils lost by a score of 5-1. Four of Fitzpatrick's goals were powerplay goals, tying a 1996 record by Matt Oates. The five goals in one period by a single player is believed to be an ECHL record. The lone Trenton goal came off the stick of former Hockey East standout, Providence's, Stephen Wood. The goals were Chanse's first points on the year, in his fourth game of the year! Congrats Chanse!

Go 'Cats!
