Professional Round-Up
Jason Krog assisted the tying goal and picked up the overtime game-winner maintaining his goal per game average as his Chicago Wolves defeated the Rockford IceHogs - absent their captain, Darren Haydar, who is of course playing, and playing great, for the NHL club, Atlanta Thrashers. That makes 3 goals and an assist in 3 games for Jason. Come on Darren, you're not keeping up ;)
Also in the AHL, Trevor Smith skated for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers who posted the win - Trevor was pointless for the night.
ECHL:
Kevin Truelson assisted on the game-winner as he and his Bakersfield Condors took down the Stockton Thunder 3-2 who got an assist from Jacob Micflikier on their first goal. Both Kevin and Jacob took a penalty on the night. And hopefully we'll see Kevin take up his blogger's cap again this year.
Andrew Leach assisted as well as his Trenton Devils beat Jeff Pietrasiak's Reading Royals - Jeff didn't play, as Jon Quick (Umass) suited up for his first professional game.
Josh Ciocco and Brett Hemingway's Fresno Falcons fell to the John Curry backed Las Vegas Wranglers. It was an overtime slashing call on Hemingway that led to the the winning goal, a 2-1 final.
Sean Collins netted a late assist. The goal pulled his Wheeling Nailers to within one but an empty net goal would seal the deal and they fell to one and one on the season - Sean has assist in each game.
Last night also saw Shawn Vinz and Brian Yandle suit up for the Charlotte Checkers and the Phoenix Roadrunners respectively in separate games. They were both held pointless.
Lots more action to come tonight!
Go 'Cats!
