Haydar Notches Second Assist - Atlanta Wins

Darren Haydar added an assist tonight on the eventual game-winner and the Atlanta Thrashers have put their first mark in the win column after dropping a league worst 6 games.

Darren fed teammate Bryan Little for a fourth unanswered goal in the game, bringing his point total to one goal and two assists in just four games in which he is a +3. The goal would prove to be the game winner as the New York Rangers surged for three goals falling short, 5-3.

He saw his ice time cut back to just 8 minutes after a 13 minute stint last game and an average of just over 9 and a half minutes per game so far, but still managed to contribute.

Keep up the great work, Darren!

In the ECHL, Sean Collins and his Wheeling Nailers finally opened up the East Coast Hockey League season in a victory over the Johnstown Chiefs.

Sean picked up an assist on the eventual game winner himself and was a +1 on the night. The assist came on a pass to Ned Havern (BC) on the powerplay.

That's all for tonight. I'll be back tomorrow with word of any success on the part of Daniel Winnik (he's -1 as of this writing) whose Phoenix Coyotes are deadlocked with the visiting Edmonton Oilers at one, over half-way through the game.

Tomorrow! Game Day! Hockey East season opener!

Go 'Cats!
