Playoff Reports for 4/26 & 4/27

There's a little to recount from last night before we get to tonight.

USHL:

Phil DeSimone was again held scoreless after having exploded for 4 goals in the first two games but he did assist twice (giving him a 4-4-8 point line in 5 games) helping his Sioux City Musketeers to a 3-2 series lead over the Tri-City Storm. They'll look to their fourth victory in the series tomorrow, April 28th.

Will O'Neill and the Omaha Lancers will be fighting for life as just one more loss will send them packing this year. They will square off with the Des Moines Buccaneers tonight to stay alive in this 2007 Clark Cup Playoffs.

*And they couldn't manage it. Having taken the game through almost two overtimes, with just nine seconds until the fifth intermission of the game the Lancers gave up their final goal of the season - and a great season it was.

AHL:

Also fighting to stay in their hunt, for the Calder Cup though, are Garrett Stafford and Josh Prudden with their Worcester Sharks. The Sharks managed to pull off their first playoff victory this season to make the series 3-1 on Wednesday night at home. Tonight they are back in hostile territory and the home of the Manchester Monarchs.

*Not going down without a fight, literally in Prudden's case, Stafford assisted on a powerplay goal and their Sharks capture win number two, 4-1, to close the gap in the series where it is win or go home for them which is where they'll be playing tomorrow night.

ECHL:

Looking for their first victory in the second round of their playoffs, for the Kelly Cup, are Kevin Truelson and Tyler Scott alongside their Bakersfield Condors versus the Alaska Aces. They come home tonight and won't want to leave until they've evened this series at two.

*Bakersfield and Alaska are where they started after two whirls around the ice. And would be the same after three but Alaska would score just over three minutes into the OT on a hooking minor to Bakersfield making it win or go home for the Condors. Kevin had 4 shots on net and Tyler 2. They will don armor again tomorrow night.

I'll be posting updates when available.

Go 'Cats!
