Late Playoff Update
Elimination:
Tyler Scott and Kevin Truelson with the Bakersfield Condors (ECHL) as well as Garrett Stafford and Josh Prudden with their Worcester Sharks (AHL) were eliminated last night. The Condors were just plain outmatched in every way by a superb Alaska Aces squad, which comes as no surprise seeing as they are the defending Kelly Cup Champions. Tyler finishes the '07 Kelly Cup Playoffs with 1g, 3a in 10 games on the blueline and Kevin, still playing in his defensive role (which is highly offensive if you're playing for the Condors), who tallied 2a in their 10 games. The Sharks were battling back against the division winning Manchester Monarchs, who had taken a 3-0 series lead, but the King's AHL affiliate would make history, getting out of the first round of the playoffs for the first time after having dropped two straight to Worcester. Garrett contributed 3a in the 6 games, from the blueline of course, and Josh finishing with 1 assist.
Congratulations guys on excellent seasons as you have all had career years or nearly so! You make Wildcat Nation proud! Enjoy the off-season and we look forward to seeing all of you next season!
Fight to the Finish:
Phil DeSimone and his Sioux City Musketeers are going to game seven with the Tri-City Storm Monday night (we here in Wildcat Nation can say that they would have already dispatched the Storm if Future 'Cat Mike Beck were healthy and playing). Phil leads the USHL in Clark Cup Playoff points with 5 goals and 5 assists in 6 games (he has a game or two in hand). Tune in tomorrow night for details.
