Congratulations To Michigan State University
Back to 'Cats:
Trevor Smith scored his first pro goal tying the game in the second period but he would not get a shot at the shootout and his team would only leave with one point this night.
Garrett Stafford scored TWICE and Josh Prudden scored once leaving Stafford to assist on the game-winning over-time goal. Prudden brought them within one and Stafford eventually tied the game sending it into overtime with just 28 seconds to play.
Jacob Micflikier is still proving himself. He scored to put his team up 3-2 early in the third (his third pro goal) but the game would be tied and sent to a shootout where Micflikier would again score along with three of his teammates to finally shutdown one of the best AHL teams, the Hartford Wolfpack.
Sean Collins and the Wheeling Nailers would make multiple comebacks and eventually make it stick with Collins' game-winner at the end of the second period. He finished with a goal and an assist.
Go 'Cats!
